Our team provides expert joint mobilizations/manipulation to help you restore range of motion and function.
Our joints play a key role in all physical activity, and stiff or injured joints can severely impair your ability to participate in your favorite activities or even to perform everyday tasks. If you have pain in your joints or have found that your range of motion isn’t what it used to be, we encourage you to call our team at Hampstead, Sneads Ferry, and Topsail Physical Therapy to learn more about how we can help. We will create a customized therapy plan to help you get the high-quality results you’re looking for, and one of the treatments we are likely to include is joint mobilizations/manipulations.
Joint mobilizations/manipulations are used for a number of different purposes, including improving the joint’s range of motion, increasing the affected tissue’s extensibility, alleviating pain, and reducing swelling or inflammation. In joint mobilization, our therapists use small, passive movements to manually move the affected joint. We work the joint gently through a natural level of resistance, which strengthens and stretches the tissue surrounding the bone to allow an increased range of motion and reduce pain. Joint manipulation is a similar technique, but instead of gently guiding the joint, the therapist applies a forceful thrust to further strengthen the tissue and improve the joint’s ability to move like it’s supposed to.
Our team wants to give you the best possible physical therapy experience, and we offer top-notch services to do just that. If you have questions about our joint mobilizations/manipulations, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
